SUMMER SOLSTICE QUEEN – BLOCK OF THE MONTH
Date: Fridays, January 16, February 20, March 20, and April 17
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (All Four Full Days)
Join Kelley for this spectacular four-part class to construct the SUMMER SOLSTICE QUEEN QUILT, a Block of the Month quilt designed by the incomparable Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx. This stunning project finishes to an impressive 99" x 99" (QUEEN SIZE), guaranteed to become an heirloom centerpiece.
This class is led by our expert KELLEY, who will guide you through Judy’s revolutionary paper piecing methods, making this intricate design completely manageable.
The Summer Solstice Quilt is defined by its beautiful starburst design. You will master Judy Niemeyer's signature precise FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING techniques, including an innovative STRIP-PIECING METHOD that minimizes fabric waste.
Despite its intricate appearance, the assembly is cleverly designed to eliminate tricky Y-SEAMS, ensuring success and a flat finish. The design features a radiant LONE STAR CENTER combined with elements of the classic NEW YORK BEAUTY BLOCK.
This Block of the Month format allows you to tackle this ambitious quilt in manageable stages, building your confidence in advanced foundation paper piecing over four full days. The pattern is included in the cost of the class.
