The Yvette Woven Dress – Mastering Asymmetrical Design
Date: Wednesday, March 4 & Wednesday, March 11
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (Both Days)
Join Irene for this engaging two-day workshop to construct the Style Arc Yvette Woven Dress, a calf-length, regular-fit dress that is both comfortable and striking. This class is ideal for the intermediate sewist ready to tackle thoughtful design details and precise construction techniques, resulting in a beautiful dress perfect for any season.
The Yvette Woven Dress is defined by its unique silhouette and features:
The dress has a flattering A-line shape and a chic boat neck. Its standout feature is the asymmetrical design lines that add visual interest and modern flair to the bodice and skirt. Students will learn how to accurately construct these unique seams. The pattern offers versatile styling with options for either a sleeveless finish or an elbow-length sleeve with a cuff. The closure is a delicate and secure loop and button back neck closure. You will also have the option to include practical inseam pockets.
Irene will guide you through all aspects of construction, ensuring precision in handling the asymmetrical lines and demonstrating professional techniques for the neckline, sleeves/cuffs, and back closure. The suggested fabrics for this pattern are linen, crepe, rayon, and cotton, all of which will create a beautiful drape.
Note: This is a two-day class. Please plan to attend both Wednesday, March 4, and Wednesday, March 11.
